June 1
Children’s Garden Planting Afternoon, Centennial Botanical Conservatory
Go on, dig in the dirt. Come help plant carrots, potatoes, onions and more at the Children’s Garden. 1-3pm, free. Rain date June 2.

Thunder Pride, various locations
There are a number of family-friendly events at Pride, including the Canada Games Complex pool party on June 2, Pride Night at the Border Cats game June 5, and the block party, church service and parade June 15 and 16.

Kite Festival, Chippewa Park
Watch expert kite flyers fly giant structures, bring your own kite to fly, get your face painted, listen to music, bounce on the inflatables, try a giant hamster ball, make your own Japanese koi flag, kite or rainbow wand, ride the rides and more. Noon-4pm, free, although some activities have a fee.

Soapbox Races, Waverley Hill
Head to one of TBay’s largest hills to cheer on the racers as they zoom by. 9am start, free.

School Bus Road-eo, CLE Grounds
If your littles are fascinated by the big yellow buses, then this is the event for you. Watch local school bus drivers compete for the title of top driver. 10am-noon, free.

National Indigenous Peoples Day, Marina Park
