March 1
PA Day activities, various branches of the TBPL
At Brodie, there’s a Scaredy Squirrel puppet show and activities at 10:30, or you can watch the Paddington movie at 2:30. County Park hosts Science North and an extreme sports exhibit from 2:30-4:30. At Mary J. L. Black from 2:30-4, there’s the “Birthday Cake” puppet show and activities. And at Waverley, the Auditorium is open for free play from 9:30-4pm. Free.

March 3
Winter FunDay, Marina Park
Winter Science is the theme of this event, co-hosted by Science North. 2-4pm, free. There’s also a free indoor craft at the Baggage Building Arts Centre from 1-3pm.

Movie Afternoon, West Thunder Community Centre
Penguins of Madagascar is the movie this month, and the canteen will be open for lunch. 1-3pm, admission by donation. Doors open at 12:30.

Pancake Dinner, St. Paul’s Anglican Church
Pancakes for dinner? Yes please! There will be fruit and sausage too, along with nut-free and gluten-free and dairy-free options. Admission by donation, 5-6:30pm.

Movie Night, North End Community Centre
Watch Ralph Breaks the Internet on the 120-inch screen! 6:45-9pm, doors open at 6pm and the canteen will be open. Free admission.

LUNSA Powwow, CJ Sanders Fieldhouse
Presented by the Lakehead University Native Student Association, this three-day powwow has a theme of Celebrating Community. There will be dancing, singing, drumming and a traditional feast. Free admission.

Winter FunDay, Marina Park
Parks Canada features some fun outdoor activities today, plus as always there’s skating on the rink. 2-4pm, free. You can also warm up with an indoor craft at the Baggage Building Arts Centre from 1-3pm.

Family Favourites, Silver City Thunder Bay Get your family movie fix. Each weekday at 11am, choose from one of four movies for $2.99. The movies are Smallfoot, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, The Grinch or Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups.

Toy Sense is offering a variety of kid-friendly activities from 1-4pm each weekday, including a sock puppet craft, robotics event and camp crafts. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.

The Big Freeze, Mount Baldy Ski Area
Ski, snowboard or tube for a great price in support of local organizations. There will also be a kids’ zone with competitions throughout the day, a bonfire, hot chocolate and more. 10am-9pm, $15 admission, kids under 5 free.

March 17
Shamrock Shakedown, Sleeping Giant Brewing Company
At this all-ages event, you can get jiggity with traditional Celtic music, watch Irish dancers and take part in snacks, crafts and games. 2-5pm, free admission.

Winter FunDay, Marina Park
This is the last Winter FunDay this year! Come in costume to skate on the rink along with some friends from All the Daze Productions. 2-4pm, free. From 1-3 pm, you can stitch and paint your own travel bag indoors at the Baggage Building Arts Centre.
