Winter Carnival, North McIntyre Rec Centre
Come on Friday night between 5:30 and 8:30 for a skate party, or on Saturday between 11am and 5pm for free indoor and outdoor activities and entertainment, including music, clowns, a self-defense demo, skating, a nature walk, hockey shot and a curling rock throw.

Family Fishing Weekend
You’re allowed to fish without a license this weekend, so bundle up the kids, pack some treats and head out for a bit of ice fishing.

Sunday February 17
2019 NHL Alumni Tour, Fort William Gardens
See some great hockey (yep, former NHL players) and support local charities too. 2pm, admission required. Plus there’s a free meet and greet with the players at Wackys at 4:30.

Winter FunDay, Marina Park
It’s a “Harry Potter in the winter” treasure hunt, hosted by Willow Springs! 2-4pm, free. There is also a free create-a-comic book activity indoors at the Baggage Building Arts Centre from 1-3pm.

Snowshoeing, South Neebing Community Centre
Bring your snowshoes and come explore the trails for an hour (the views of the Nor’Westers are beautiful) then warm up with some hot chocolate. 2-4pm, free.

Monday February 18 (Family Day)
FamJam 2019, CLE Coliseum
This annual Family Day event is rocking with balloon animals, music, bouncy castles, face painting, crafts and more in support of local charities. 11am-4pm, admission required.

Tapiola Family Ski Day, Tapiola Sports Park
Family skiing, snowshoeing, snowpainting, a bonfire, snowball prize game, kicksledding and good eats are waiting for you at Tapiola. 12-3pm, free (with small fees for some activities).

SnowDay, Marina Park
Named one of the top 100 festivals and events in Ontario, SnowDay features way-cool professional snow sculptures as well as a variety of family activities including skating, snow-carving and traditional winter games. 1-5pm, free. (The dog-sledding FunDay from late January has been rescheduled to this date too.) For a fee, you can also tour the waterfront via helicopter—wow!
