March 4

Winter FunDay, Cabane a Sucre, Marina Park

Learn how maple toffee is made and of course, get a yummy free sample. 2-4pm, free.

Various exhibits, Thunder Bay Art Gallery

Check out artwork featuring our own Porphyry Island lighthouse by a variety of local artists. "At Pelican Falls" features the contemporary work of some young Indigenous artists until March 11, then switches to work created by LU students at the Student Juried Exhibition.

Battle on the Bay 2018, Shuniah

Motorcycles racing on a frozen stretch of Lake Superior? Pretty sure some bike-happy kids are going to think it’s way cool. Racing 1-4pm.

Winter FunDay, Winter Science, Marina Park

It’s the last FunDay event of winter 2018! Learn about the science of winter, plus try a free creative activity indoors at the Baggage Building Arts Centre. 2-4pm, free.

Various events, Thunder Bay Public Library

The TBPL delivers a huge amount of family programs over March Break: Harry Potter and Indiana Jones movie marathons, mega Lego builds, pirate stuff, a concert with the Grumpy Grandpas, a unicorn dance party, rock art, making a fairy jar, a St. Patrick's Day puppet show and more.

Free public skate

Lace up your skates for a free session at Delaney, 7:15-8:45 pm on March 16. Then on the 25th, it’s held at Grandview, 1:15-2:45pm.

St. Urho’s Bay Street Parade and Variety Show, Finlandia

It’s not exactly a St. Patrick’s Day event…but how about the Finn tradition of St. Urho? The parade starts at noon from the Hoito, followed by variety show until 4pm. $5 admission for the show.

Spring into Life, Centennial Botanical Conservatory

Get a jump on spring and warmer weather with a visit to the Conservatory. The event includes music, refreshments and a kids’ activity. 2-4pm, free.

Dummy Downhill 2018, Loch Lomond Ski Area

Say goodbye to ski season with dummies mounted on skis and pushed down the mountain. 12-5pm. (Launch begins at 3pm.)

Easter Festival & Egg Hunt, Gammondale Farm

From an egg hunt and an Easter slingshot to visiting farm animals, a jelly bean count and a scavenger hunt, there's plenty of Easter-themed fun for kiddos at Gammondale. 11am-3pm, admission required.
