Winter FunDay: Snowshoeing, Marina Park
Stomp, stomp, stomp! Take the kids to give snowshoeing a try at Prince Arthur’s Landing—you can strap on a traditional wooden pair or ones with a modern aluminum frame. Free, 2-4pm. Inside at the Baggage Building Arts Centre, you can help make pom poms and other yarn-y fun for an upcoming “Yarnbomb” public art project. Free, 12-3pm.

An Afternoon in the Tropics, Centennial Conservatory
Groove to live music, do kids’ activities and snack on refreshments in our own little tropical paradise at the Conservatory. Free, 2-4pm.

PD Day Activities, Thunder Bay Public Library
The library has got you covered if you’re looking for PD Day ideas: a Clifford puppet show at Brodie (10:30-11:15), Beach Party at County Park (2:30-3:30, registration suggested), The Spinning Fairy puppet show at MJLB (2:30-3:30) and a showing of The Princess Bride at Brodie (2:30-4:45).

Family Ski Day, Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park
If your family is into cross country skiing, join other parents and kids at the Kakabeka Falls trails for some group skiing on 15km of trails that range from easy to expert, and gather around the campfire too. BYO marshmallows. 10am-2pm. Trailhead access at Luckens Road.
